My Background
Digital content has been part of my life for over 20 years and I am passionate about media and technology. I studied Media Communication at Asbury University prior to transferring to the University of Kentucky and obtaining my B.A. in Telecommunications. While in school I worked for companies such as Keeneland Race Course, Post Time Technologies and Trakus Digital Sports information. My work with these companies included live graphics, camera operation, video streaming, server administration, interface design and operating the Trakus 3D graphics package that was integrated with simulcast and broadcast feeds that included TVG and ESPN.
Upon completing my degree I was hired by Blood-Horse Publication as the Digital Asset Manager. Initially I was in charge of the digital archives at the media outlet, but I quickly expanded my role into media production. For six years I was the primary videographer overseeing the production of weekly shows, event coverage, live streams, retail DVDs and the production of video packages. I was frequently a one man show responsible for video, audio, direction, graphics, lighting, equipment and certain backend infrastructure elements. During that time period our video content was recognized with numerous awards including the Alltech A+ award for coverage of the 2010 World Equestrian Games as well as multiple American Horse Publications awards. The most recent of these was for the 2014 multimedia piece "Experience Santa Anita."
Today, I work at the University of Kentucky overseeing the studios at the Faculty Media Depot and assisting instructors with the use of media and technology in courses. I love making people's visions a reality and I look forward to our collaboration.
